This Swedish Biedermeier-style extending table dates from 1900–1910 and is made of burr walnut, with three later-made leaves.
Description from the seller
On the table's top and a loose plate there is a small blemish—see photo. The leaves are three pieces; the original leaves were lost and were later added separately, made of walnut wood, as I was told.
Wood type & veneer: The tabletop has a striking decorative pattern that is characteristic of burl wood (root burl) or bloom mahogany. Coulissen system: The table is equipped with a wooden sliding mechanism (the coulisses). When the two halves of the round top are pulled apart, space opens in the middle to place one or more loose inlay leaves (between leaves). This changes the round table into a spacious oval dining table.
