Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
The Olympus Pen D2, designed by Yoshihisa Maitani, has been serviced and tested, with the shutter firing and light meter responding, though the meter reads about three stops high and the top shutter speed runs slow.

About this camera
The Olympus Pen D2 (1964) is a premium model in Olympus's famous half-frame Pen series, designed by Yoshihisa Maitani. It pairs the fast, high-quality F.Zuiko 32mm f/1.9 lens with a built-in CdS exposure meter, offering excellent image quality in a genuinely pocketable all-mechanical body. The half-frame format doubles the number of exposures on a roll of 35mm film.
Measured Performance
- 1 s — measured 1/4 s (approx. 2.0 stop fast)
- 1/60 — measured 1/34 s (approx. 0.8 stop slow)
- 1/1000 — measured 1/182 s (approx. 2.5 stop slow)
- Light meter accuracy — EV12: 2.8 OVER / EV15: 3.3 OVER
Some of these deviations exceed what negative film can absorb – see Known Issues.
The shutter fires and the light meter responds.

- Light seals (foam) replaced
