Description from the seller

Vintage Bentima 8-Day Mechanical Striking Mantel Clock – Made in Great Britain

A charming vintage Bentima 8-day mechanical mantel clock, made in Great Britain, probably dating from the mid-20th century.

The clock features an attractive curved wooden case with a warm honey-brown finish, contrasting darker side panels and decorative metal feet.

The circular dial features raised Arabic numerals, elegant decorative hands, a brass-toned bezel and two winding holes.

The mechanical movement includes a pendulum and a coiled gong striking mechanism. The dial is clearly marked “Bentima”, “8 Day” and “Made in Great Britain”.

Condition:

The clock is in vintage condition, showing age-related wear, scratches and marks. There are visible cracks in the wooden finish on the front, particularly beneath the dial, as clearly shown in the photographs.

The rear door opens to reveal the mechanical movement, pendulum and gong.

Working Condition:

The clock is a vintage mechanical timepiece. Due to its age and the delicate nature of the mechanism, its continued operation after international shipping cannot be guaranteed. Adjustment or servicing may be necessary after transportation.

Shipping:

The clock will be carefully packaged for safe transportation.

Please examine all photographs carefully, as they form an important part of the description.

A lovely example of a traditional British vintage mantel clock, suitable for collectors and classic interior decoration.
