Description from the seller
Józefina Krosno (attributed) – “Octopus” Pedestal Bowls / Compotes (2) – Emerald-Green Art Glass – Poland – 1980s/1990s
Final description
A striking and highly decorative matched set of two organically formed art-glass pedestal bowls, commonly known as the “Octopus” or “Jellyfish” design, attributed to the renowned Józefina Krosno glassworks in Poland.
This complete set comprises both the large and small versions in the same vivid emerald-green colour. Each bowl is supported by flowing, individually hand-formed glass tentacles that curve organically around the body and converge toward the circular foot.
The sculptural construction creates a beautiful interplay of light, transparency and movement. Because the pieces were mouth-blown and finished by hand, subtle variations and small irregularities are characteristic of the traditional production process and make every example unique.
