Description from the seller
Wall-mounted Console Shelf in Venetian Baroque Style – Hand-Lacquered and Hand-Painted Wood – Mid 20th Century
Elegant wall-mounted console shelf (also usable as a suspended bedside table) in full Venetian Baroque style, dating from the mid-20th century (circa the 1940s/1950s). The piece is entirely crafted in finely shaped and carved wood, characterized by curved, soft, sinuous lines.
The finish features the classic Venetian antique lacquer in a refined sage green hue, enhanced by details, scrolls, and gilded highlights that enhance the carved profiles and the volute support legs. The upper surface is enriched with a central multicolored floral bouquet, entirely hand-painted with meticulous attention to detail. A piece of great charm and decor, ideal for entrances, corridors, or as an accent bedside table in a classic bedroom.
The item presents in generally good conservative condition, with normal and minor signs of time and patina that attest to its authenticity and era (please refer to the photos for details).
