Description from the seller
Charming and highly sought-after antique miniature sewing machine for children, the famous Model 20 "Sewhandy" produced by the Singer Co. factory in the USA around the 1920s/1930s.
Designed in heavy blue-black cast iron, this iconic mechanical toy features its original spoked wheel in an undulating "S" shape, its metal base and its beautifully preserved original gold medallion at the base ("The Singer Mfg. Co. Trade Mark - U.S.A."). A true piece of history of sewing and collectible toys.
• Manufacture: Singer Manufacturing Co.
• Model: Model 20
• Era: Around 1926
• Material: Heavy cast iron and steel
• Dimensions: Maximum height: 18 cm
• Condition: Beautiful authentic vintage condition. The mechanism and wheel turn smoothly. It shows a superb patina of time with normal surface oxidation/rust on the raw steel parts (base, needle bar, handwheel) and slight paint loss on the worn edges, which attests to its centennial authenticity (see detailed photos).
