Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
Italian vintage coffee table from 1950–1960, made of walnut and glass, with a tripod base and spindly legs, in good used condition with small signs of age and stains.
Description from the seller
Italian coffee table / occasional table from 1950–1955.
Iconic tripod structure with slender, conical walnut legs converging into a turned central sphere, a circular top with a double-rim mold and original matte-smoothed glass etched with a hand-etched central motif depicting birds in flight and floral scrolls.
Restoration:
The table has undergone professional conservation restoration — cleaning, consolidation and revival of the original shellac finish — deliberately left with its original patina. No repainting, no replacements, no structural modifications. The authenticity of the piece has been preserved.
Conditions and total transparency
• Wooden structure: very good, solid and stable, coherent patina, minimal signs of use compatible with age.
• Original 1950s glass top: as shown in the photos, there is a small shell-shaped chip on the edge (about 2 cm diameter) and slight wear/opacity of the satin finish on the lower part of the glass, visible when viewed against the light. The upper surface remains perfectly smooth and transparent. This is natural wear of the etched treatment over time, not a breakage. Defects clearly visible in the photos and not impairing use.
Material: Walnut, original frosted/acid-etched glass
Period: 1950-1959
Origin: Italy
Style: Mid-Century Modern, Italian Organic Design
Provenance: private collection
Measurements: diameter 64 cm, height 47 cm
