Description from the seller
Spectacular French wall-mounted coat rack in gilt bronze, Rococo style, made in the early 20th century.
This exceptional piece is a masterful example of the lost-wax casting technique and the subsequent hand chasing.
The level of detail in the floral motifs and the volutes is astonishing, demonstrating the hand of a master bronze caster. It features an oval central mirror surrounded by an openwork bronze framework, flanked by four matching-design hooks, making it both functional and sculptural.
The structure is defined by the absence of straight lines, favoring organic forms in constant motion. The piece is in exceptional condition for its age. The original gilt remains rich and shows no significant wear.
Dimensions: 53 cm wide and 24 cm high.
It is a magnificent investment for collectors and lovers of classical design. Its museum-quality and provenance make it a rare and valuable piece that brings a dose of 'savoir-faire' and French elegance to any space.
It will be shipped in careful and secure packaging.
