Brush pot - Bamboo

This is a traditional Chinese bamboo brush pot (bitong), an essential scholar’s desk object.
The surface is decorated with exquisite deep relief carving, depicting a classical landscape scene: ancient pavilions, pine trees, rockery, terraced courtyards and tiny human figures strolling and gathering. The carving is layered and detailed, with fine textures on buildings and foliage.
