Pioneer PL-570 – Fully Automatic Direct Drive Turntable – T4P – Dynamic Resonance Absorber – 1986

A handsome Pioneer PL-570 stereo turntable from around 1986, designed and manufactured in Japan.

This is the later version of the PL-570, with a modern design for its time, fully automatic operation and a straight tonearm with particular technical characteristics.

The silver finish, the transparent dust cover, and the well-crafted build give this turntable its characteristic 1980s look.

Fully automatic operation

The Pioneer PL-570 is designed for simple and comfortable use.
With one press of the start button, the tonearm is automatically positioned over the record and gently lowered. After playback, the tonearm is automatically raised and returned to its resting position.

The Direct Drive drive provides a stable rotation without the use of a drive belt. The turntable is suitable for both 33⅓ and 45 rpm speeds.

Dynamic Resonance Absorber

An interesting feature of this model is the Dynamic Resonance Absorber on the tonearm.
This system is designed to limit unwanted resonances of the tonearm and thus support a stable tracing of the record groove.
A technically interesting provision that sets this Pioneer apart from many simpler turntables.
T4P element and stylus
The turntable is equipped with a straight tonearm and a mounted T4P/P-mount cartridge with a stylus.
The T4P system was developed to simplify use and replacement of cartridges, as important adjustments are fixed according to a standardized system.
The stylus is present, and the turntable was successfully tested when playing vinyl records.
