History and Charm.
Pocket a piece of postwar Japanese engineering history.
What is pictured is a Click Camera, the famous HIT-type subminiature produced by Tougodo in Japan between the late 1940s and the 1950s. Born as an evolution of the legendary Midget and Mycro from 1937, it became famous worldwide as a "Spy Camera" - even sold in American gum distributors as a gadget.
Only 5 cm tall, all metal chrome-plated, it is a true jewel of miniaturization that has captivated generations of collectors.
Technical Details
• Model: Click Camera - HIT Type • Origin: Japan - Occupied Japan / 1950s • Film: 17.5mm roll with paper backing - format 14x14mm (10 exposures) • Lens: Fixed f/11 • Included: Original hand-stitched leather case.
You can admire it in the photos: the front with the inscribed "CLICK CAMERA" and the stars, the back with the raised branding, the interior with the classic red pose-count window.
Conditions:
As pictured, the camera presents in vintage/collector's condition.
• Chrome body with normal signs of age and micro-wear consistent with its age • Original leather case present, showing signs of use and visible stitching • Opening/closing mechanism and advance wheel present.
Not tested with film. Sold as a collectible / vintage display piece, exactly as found. No guarantee of current photographic functionality.
A rare and increasingly sought-after item, perfect for collectors of subminiatures, spy cameras, Japanese toys, and vintage photography.
Dimensions for comparison: as in photo 2, smaller than a standard lighter.
I guarantee careful packaging and trackable shipping.
