Description from the seller
Lima H0 - HL2007 - Electric locomotive (1) - E10 prototype - DB
Unit number E10 005
Tested and in working order
Digitally prepared with 8-pin interface (NEM 652)
Front windows switch with the direction of travel
Four axles powered
The locomotives of the E10 series were developed and built after World War II by combinations of several manufacturers. This involved the upper structure built by Henschel works in Kassel, by Krauss-Macker–Maffei in München-Allach, and by Krupp in Essen, and the electrical installation built by AEG, BBC, and Siemens.
Before moving to mass production, five prototypes were built first. This allowed drives from different manufacturers to be compared with each other.
Besides the propulsion method, the prototypes also differed in the cab shape with two or three front windows and the number of grills on the sides of the locomotives.
