Ecclesiastical palm - 76 cm - Wood - 1850-1900

Wooden palm frond carved around the mid-1800s. Used for solemn religious ceremonies, it was slid into palm holders as a solemn decoration. Hand-carved and carved, it still shows the original polychromy (with losses) as well as losses in the decorations of the carved flowers and leaves (see photos). Nevertheless, it is a very rare artifact to find on the antique market due to the peculiarity and richness of the decorations. The handle to insert into the palm holder was removed many years ago, the dimensions are 76x34x15 cm. Due to current regulations, it cannot be shipped outside the European Union.
