Italian Palazzo Auction

A fascinating ebonized frame dating from the early 20th century, crafted after the prestigious Flemish and Dutch models of the seventeenth century.
The profile is characterized by rich ornamental work with refined guilloché reliefs (wave or serrated work). The deep inner bevel creates a strong play of light and shadow, ideal for giving the contained artwork ample breathing room and a sense of three-dimensionality.
