Lot of 12 pieces of Garnet Essonite with Chlorite from Monte Civrari, Val di Viù

• Sample description: Magnificent single lot consisting of 12 carefully selected garnet samples in the sought-after variety essonite (grossular garnet), characterized by groups of vitreous crystals with an intense deep red-orange color, reminiscent of hyacinth. As splendidly evidenced in the macro photographs, the individual crystals display bright and well-formed rhombododecahedral faces, growing in perfect paragenesis on a striking matrix covered by patina and lamellar aggregates of green-gray chlorite. The strong color contrast between the vivid red of the garnets and the dark tone of the chlorite greatly enhances the aesthetic quality and visual balance of the entire lot.

• Brief locality description: Monte Civrari, Val di Viù (Valle di Lanzo, Turin, Piedmont, Italy) – A famous ultrabasic mountain massif known internationally in alpine mineralogy for its exceptional historical finds of essonite within the valleys and rocky channels.
