Description from the seller

EB WeightLight series LIGHT Collection presents the impact moving closer to the core trough meditation where light emerges, releasing from the burdens of emotions. LIGHTVASE object is open edition of the LIGHT Collection. A freestanding vase for display on the surface or comes with the altar.

BAI BAI signature glass techniques, is an ode to the craftsmanship of glass blowers including textured and rough surfaces boldly shaping full body glass that adds unforgettable visual and sensory experience. Glass embodies transparency and allows light to pass through, giving it an ethereal quality.

Authors :

ERLANDS & BAI BAI form an art-designer duo, connecting their life philosophies in glass art, meditation, and design. ERLANDS envisions spaces and objects through the guidance of meditative practices. Where he explores the core of harmonious life. BAI BAI through mastery of glass making traditions fused with her signature techniques creates phenomenal glass art pieces, forming hot glass into sensory textures and visual experiences. It began as a personal exploration and has evolved into a methodical study: extended periods of isolation, vipassana meditation, breathwork, physical and environmental challenges. Through this process, a way of living revealed itself, one that values slowness, clarity, and intention. And gives foundation of shaping objects and environments that evolve this vision.

The EB WeightLight was born merging both – depth and lightness. A sculptural object that encourages daily interaction and movement through connective design. Its meaning can be explained in environment that reflects it. This is how mediative practices shape the objects, space and philosophy bridging traditional glass craftsmanship and contemporary design thinking. Created in collaboration between Erlands, whose meditative practice guides the design process, and Baiba Dzenite, a contemporary glass artist rooted in UNESCO glassmaking traditions embodying both – mastery and innovations.

Exhibited :

EB WeightLight Collectible series first unveiled at solo exhibition 8 DAYS OF LIGHTNESS by ERLANDS & BAI BAI during Lake Como Design Festival 2024. Over the course of 8 days, the EB WeightLights redefined how contemplative art and functionality may merge within daily life. Their modular, organic forms invite multiple compositions, transforming static sculpture into living, interactive works. The pieces encourage a meditative engagement with body and mind. Highlighted in the publication dedicated to the festivals theme 'Lightness' by Jessica-Christin Hametner/Editor in Chief/ICON Magazine Issue #216
