This set of six 24 cm Ginori porcelain plates from Italy, dating to the late 19th century, has hand-painted floral decoration, a cobalt-blue laurel wreath surrounding the Gothic initials “fp”, and a geometric border; one plate has a repair to the border, and the set is in good condition with signs of age.

AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Precious and rare set consisting of 6 fine porcelain dinner plates (24 cm in diameter), made by the famous and historic Ginori Manufactory of Doccia (Sesto Fiorentino) in the final decades of the 19th century.
The plates feature a refined and elegant neoclassical-inspired decoration, entirely hand-painted with exceptional technical skill. At the center of the well is a noble or prestigious-commission monogram featuring the letters "fp" in cursive Gothic lettering, enclosed within a circular garland of cobalt-blue laurel leaves under the glaze.
The rim and center are embellished with finely shaded multicolored bouquets of wildflowers (barbeaux style), while the outer edge features a crisp, elegant geometric key border in black/brown with gold lining. On the reverse, the plates bear the maker's mark impressed into the clay: a capital letter "G" set inside a lozenge (diamond). This specific mark guarantees authenticity and dates the plates to between 1870 and 1890, during the golden age of the Ginori manufactory, before its merger with Richard in 1896.
Good condition, with normal signs of age and wear. Please note that one plate has been repaired along the Greek key border; see photos.

I do not ship outside the European Union.
The lot will be carefully packed and shipped in a reinforced polystyrene box.
