Description from the seller
I am offering this Lenco L75/S turntable, manufactured in Italy at the Oggiono factory in the province of Lecco, probably between 1976 and 1978. Its unusually low six-digit serial number (021112) indicates that it is from one of the first Italian production runs of this specific variant (dating to 1976–1977), before the series was updated or supplemented by later versions. All models made in Italy are descended from the illustrious L70, one of the very few turntables with exceptionally low noise and speed variation. The exceptional nature of this old design is demonstrated by the fact that, even though the machine’s basic construction remained the same, the Italian models perform to a very high standard. Lenco’s idler-wheel drive system is quite unusual: by moving the idler wheel parallel to the motor shaft, the platter’s rotational speed can be continuously adjusted from 30 to 87 rpm. The platter is exceptionally heavy (4 kg) and has a very high moment of inertia, which keeps wow and flutter very low: 0.08% (unweighted), 0.005% (weighted). This model has been modified with the addition of quick-connect RCA cable connectors, a GND/ground terminal, and an IEC power inlet. The stylus is practically new and is a Shure M70B; the plinth and dust cover are original. The latter naturally shows some signs of age. The turntable will be packed with the utmost care to prevent any unpleasant damage. The platter will be removed from the chassis, and the two red screws, which will be tightened to make transport easier, must be loosened before the platter is put back in place. Please look carefully at all the photos to avoid any issues later on. The turntable will be shipped insured.
