Tascam - CD-RW890 CD recorder

The Tascam CD-RW890 (almost always marketed under the name of parent company TEAC CD-RW890) is a standalone HiFi CD recorder and player. Although TEAC focuses on consumer audio and Tascam in the professional studio market, they share the same high-quality recording technology.

This device is specifically designed to record from external analog or digital sources (such as LPs, cassettes or other CD players) directly to a CD-R or CD-RW.

Key specifications & features

Media: Records to Audio CD-R and Audio CD-RW (note: regular computer CD-Rs do not work in this).

Inputs: Equipped with an analog RCA input (with manual level control) and an optical digital S/PDIF input.

Auto Track & Synchro: The recorder automatically recognizes silences between songs (for example with an lp or cassette) and independently creates new track numbers there. Synchro recording ensures that the recorder starts running immediately as soon as sound comes in.

Sound quality: Provides a signal-to-noise ratio of 90 dB and a minimum total harmonic distortion (THD) of 0.05%.

Central running gear: The CD mechanism is placed in the middle. This reduces vibration and minimizes jitter during playback and burning.

Playback functions: In addition to recording, it functions as a full-fledged CD player with features such as shuffle, repeat (A-B) and a programmable memory up to 32 songs
