Description from the seller
Large Twelve-Piece Nativity Set – Polychrome Plaster – Europe – First Half of the 20th Century
Professionally shipped – over 1,000 five-star reviews worldwide.
Beautiful, large twelve-piece nativity set in polychrome plaster, with figures measuring up to 28 cm tall.
The set consists of Mary, Joseph, the Infant Jesus in the manger, the Three Kings, three shepherds, an ox, a donkey and a sheep. The individual figures are carefully crafted, with lively facial expressions and expressive poses. Joseph and Mary’s attentive posture, the kneeling shepherds and the richly dressed kings give the nativity set a particularly lively character.
The original polychrome finish features soft pastel colours complemented by gilded details. The large size of the figures allows the nativity set to be displayed spaciously.
Height of the tallest figures: 28 cm.
Good overall condition, with older repairs to the ears and horns of the ox and donkey. Some areas of paint loss and normal signs of age and use, as shown in the photos.
The photos form an integral part of the description. Shipped with track and trace.
