Description from the seller
Very nicely conserved and reconditioned Philips 222 turntable
The Philips GA 222 Electronic is a fully automatic, belt-driven turntable manufactured in Germany from 1976 to 1978. As the successor to the iconic Philips GA 212, it combines authentic 1970s aesthetics with advanced hi-fi technology for its time.
Key Specifications & Features
• Drive and Speed: Belt-driven system equipped with an electronically regulated DC motor (FG servo) to minimize motor noise and vibration. It supports both 33 and 45 RPM.
• Fully Automatic Operation: Unlike its predecessor, the 222 model is fully automatic. It features automatic record size detection, auto-start, and a photocell-based auto-return system (LDR/LED) that protects the stylus and record when the track ends.
• Touch Controls: The turntable is operated via Philips' signature feather-touch controls, which are illuminated by vintage red LED lights.
• Built-in Stylus Force Gauge: A unique detail of this model is an integrated mechanical scale in the armrest, allowing you to easily check your tracking force when the tonearm is at rest.
