Condition: good to neat condition, the covers and the discs have the usual signs of wear, a couple of discs are in replacement covers.


The lot will be carefully packaged and sent by registered mail. 



¶ View-Master is the brand name of a system for stereo pictures. The system was invented in 1938 by the American German William Gruber and produced by Sawyer's, a factory in Grubers hometown of Portland (Oregon).

The slides are mounted in round cardboard discs, seven pairs per disc. These discs fit in a stereoscope or slide projector.  During the war, the systems was used by the US Department of Defence for training.  After the war, View-Master became extremely popular with the general public because of the publication of discs with various themes and topics.

In 1966, Sawyer's was bought by General Aniline and Film Corporation (GAF).

The View-Master stereo pictures are mounted in round cardboard discs with seven stereo photos each (fourteen images). The size of each image is 10.5 x 11.7 mm.

Most enthusiasts of this system bought/buy the disks that were fitted with pictures by the manufacturer. They were/are delivered individually or in packs of three (21 stereo pictures).
