Austin Mini - 850 Deluxe - 1959

Austin Mini 850 Deluxe of 1959, unrestored. It's a rare chance to acquire one of the first Minis manufactured. Only about 10.000 Austin Mini were manufactured in 1959, the first year of production of the Mini, and very few survived. It is believed that this is one of the oldest Mini of the Iberian Peninsula (Spain-Portugal); It had circulated until 2009. It has the original rims that will go with the car. Only the Minis from 1959 has a body 50 kg lighter than the rest, many were usedin competition...and many others were prone to rust. That is why nowadays it is difficult to find an exemplar like this, which never was deeply restored and that was simply kept and used. This car is a model of "Deluxe Export"; It has "Austin 850" emblems on the rear instead of "Austin Seven", which only can be seen in the units for export. It also has rear ashtrays, wing rubbers with chrome plated seals, chrome rear license plate light and wheel spinners with square holes. The car can be completely restored or simply revise the mechanics, keeping the outer patina. This exemplar does not have a water / liquid bottle of windscreen wipers because they were made of glass and very fragile, it does not have the boot mat and it also does not have original seat upholstery. All defects of the car can be seen in the pictures. The car is in working condition but would benefit from a general overhaul. The odometer reads 16.929 km, unverifiable. The car is in Porto, Portugal. Bids do not include transport or export, unless otherwise indicated. To avoid disappointments, it is advisable to view the vehicle before placing a bid.
