This manuscript leaf is from a late 14th-century folio. 
The date is determined by, among others, the floral decorations and the extraordinary high quality of the impressive decorated initials. 
Origin: the Netherlands. Text is written in Latin.
Manuscripts from this early period are extremely rare.

Religious text. Judging by the text fragments 'Herodis regis' and 'Bethleem' and 'Stellam' this iss probably a Christmas story.   

The manuscript is written on vellum and has not only one phenomenal main initial, but also a dozen of blue and red painted initials. This is an original 14th-century piece. Dimensions: 22 x 32 cm. 

Condition: although this item is more than 600 years old and some signs of age are visible, the text and especially the initial are very well preserved. With a handwriting signed 'abeele' on the verso. See the pictures of this leaf.
