Year: 1915. Net weight of pure gold: 3.442 g.
Gross weight: 3.490 g. Fineness: 986.11 ‰ - ridged edge.
Diameter: 20.00 mm.
The Austrian mint has made available for investment a one ducat coin dated 1915, that measures 20.00 mm in diameter, with the same fineness as the 4 ducats and with a gross weight of 3.49 g, with 3.44 g of fine gold. On this coin, due to space restrictions, only the emperor's face is engraved on the front, and not the half bust that appears on the 4 ducat coins. On the reverse side there is the double-headed Imperial eagle. An interesting detail: not all the 4 ducat and 1 ducat coins dated 1915 were struck in 1915. There are later mintages, some from the 1920s, others from few decades ago or even very recent, indistinguishable from one another and, therefore, characterised by the same market price, that of the gold contained in it. This coin and the 4 ducat are the only coins with a gold fineness of 986.66/1000. In very good condition - private collection.
