Weight 9 kg. Bindings (editor) in half red shagreen leather, spine with raised bands decorated with golden fleurons, speckled covers. Friction, wear and tear (not too serious) on the corners (dented), borders; spine with friction on the leather of the joints, wear and tear (not too serious) in head and tail, covers with friction and scratches of use; inside: reasonable, marbled end papers. This title, that should not be confused with L’Histoire grecque (1851), nor with L’Histoire de la Grèce ancienne (1861), by the same author, is the most complete of Victor Duruy (1811-1894) on the ancient Hellenic world. It was originally published in 1874. Complete with all the plates and maps.
