Pancake speaker, 40 cm diameter, from 1928! 
Design is in the style of the ‘New Objectivity’. Designer: Louis Christiaan Kalff. 
The used Philite is flamed in some editions. The base is in cast iron. 
The whole is very glossy and decorative. 

The Philips bowl speaker (nicknamed “the Pancake”) was introduced in the year 1928. The back is covered with black cloth and stretched on a metal grid. This is still entirely intact. The Bakelite is fully intact and undamaged. No hairline fractures or cracks. (minimal scratches see the photos)

Each item is unique, the variation in the material arises because the raw materials for the Philite scales were mixed by hand. 
The speaker no. 2007 was delivered with a connecting plug switch with 3 positions. The purpose of this is to be able to control the intelligibility of the spoken word or the timbre of the music by switching. 
 
This is very beautiful condition.

The plug is missing unfortunately.
