The scale has a weighing range of 250 and 1000 grams, it is 34 cm high and has a weight of 2.62 kilograms. 
This scale comes from the post office that was located in the Amsterdam Central Station. This was taken into use in 1924, and it is very likely that this scale is from that year. The type of scale was in any case already previously in use, given the ad in the Leonidas prijscourant from 1913.
The scale is mounted on a stand now, so it is easy to move, but originally it was mounted on the wall, hinged, and could then be folded in against the wall when it was not needed.
There is no brand on it but the scale is apparently of German make, because on the back of the wooden wall plate is still a German user manual: Ist durch drehen der Stellschraube 2 bei Querstellung (im rechten Winkel) zur Wand die Einstellung auf 0 nicht zu erreichen, so ist die Wand nicht lotrecht und es muss durch Unterlagen  am oberen oder unteren  Ende des Brettes ein Ausgleich geschaffen werden.
