Nederlandse vertaling (naar de derde Hoogduitse uitgave) door D. van der Waal-Spruijt, apotheker en chemist te Utrecht. Utrecht: B. Dekema. Bound in half leather with marbled covers. Gold decoration and a title label on the spine. X + 616 pp. The book is approx. 18 x 13 cm and weighs approx. 500 grams. With 86 wood engravings in the text. 

The book consists of two volumes. The first volume (up to page 349) discusses the ‘Bijzondere Anorganische Scheikunde’, the second volume (from page 351) discusses the ‘Organische Scheikunde’. The last 22 pages contain an alphabetic index. 

In very reasonable condition. The binding has some signs of use: the spine has some wear, especially at the top and bottom. Otherwise some scrapes. Also some scrapes on the covers, the corners are somewhat dented. The marbled paper on the bottom left of the back cover is somewhat torn, some missing pieces. The corner here also misses a piece of leather. The book block is broken on the back, between page 614 and page 615.   The last few pages are stuck to the back cover. Page 609/610 is loose in the block, which has cost some wear in the margin. The binding of the rest of the book is in good condition. The text block is also in a generally good condition. Regularly some light water stains in the margins (and also on the exterior of the block, see photo). Many spots have small notes (crosses, stripes, a few words) in pencil. Here and there a a small tear or fold (or signs of it) and an occasional stain. The paper is discoloured in a more or lesser extent. The flyleaves in the front and back have stains.
