These sorts of masks are worn during the ceremonies of the Goli which consist in a daily show, involving the entire village.  
This is a recent dance, borrowed by the Baule from their neighbours since the early 1900s.  
The dance is very popular, not very complex, it can be danced during entertainments but also for funerals of important people.  
The masks appear by pair, masculine / feminine.  
In sequence, there are the Kple Kple, then the Goli Glen, then the Kpan Pre horn masks, and finally, the masks with braided hairstyle, in the form of a crest, the Kpan.  
Wonderful, smooth dark patina.  Complex hairdo, finely chiselled.  The inside was finished off with an adze.  We will note a nice symmetry of the face.
