Antique and original Sicilian puppet (Italy), with frame in silver 800, from the first half of the 20th century. The face is made of hand painted wood. The armour is made of embossed and hand wrought metal and is equipped with sword and shield; the helmet can be closed; neck, arms and legs are movable.

Overall height (with iron rods and wire): 42 cm


The Sicilian marionette theatre “Opera dei pupi” was inscribed in 2008 in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage Lists. You can admire the richest collection of marionettes at the Museo Internazionale delle Marionette Antonio Pasqualino, and at the Museo Etnografico Siciliano Giuseppe Pitrè in Palermo (Sicily).
