This instrument is one of a number of bugles that were made in London in the early years of the First World War to meet the Army's demand. The bugles were commissioned from a range of companies including Hawkes, Boosey and Besson, but the Army's strict specifications ensured that the instruments from every company were built to the same design.
Military bugle. Copper body with brass bell garland, connecting ferrule in tubing, bow guard and mouthpiece receiver. Marked Besson & Co London. Signs of wear, dents, bell garland cracked i 2 places, otherwise the bugle in a good condition, please see the photos. 28cm long.
