Beautiful screen print from 1957 by the Rotterdam artist Wim Motz, in very good condition!
Light creases in the white margin. Well framed with mat this will no longer be visible.
Signed in pencil, dated and titled.

Motz experimented a lot in these days with abstract works. He made the screen prints
in a very limited edition or as unique pieces.

Written on verso: Wim Motz 1450 pesetas.

This print comes from a series of works from the artist's legacy. Authenticity is fully guaranteed.

"When I’m painting, I’m happy." Wim Motz showed enormous productivity during his life. His passion for work led him from impressionism to expressionism, from pure abstraction back to the recognizable reality. His rebellious nature is betrayed by his way of working. Wim Motz, besides painter also graphic artist, put his subjects full of dynamism and passion on the canvas and paper. It was only at the age of 37 that Motz, born in Rotterdam, started his career as an artist.

For four years (1954-1958) he was part of the group 'De vier Rotterdammers' of the figurative and direct-recognisable he then went on to total abstraction. As a member of the ‘Ara-groep’ he acquired the technique of lithography. In addition to colour lithographs, he also made black and white stone prints. He already mastered the technique of linocuts. By letting go of the figuration, Motz was able to completely focus on line and colour, the basic principles of art. He tuned into a true emotionalist.
