Sturdy 19th century silver Money pouch with chainmail - Silver
Hand made 19th century Dutch silver purse with chainmail.
This money pouch features a unique very smart silver scissor mechanism.
When you open the silver cap, the neck has a diameter of 2.00 cm.
By pulling the 2 rings that are attached to the closure, the pouch opens up.
The purse has a diameter of 7.5 cm,
simple to close again by pressing the rings back together.
Fully assayed and marked with the hallmarks:
Fineness mark 800
The small V = Tax stamp for foreign works. Imported by K.B. of 16th Sept 1905
Also marked with the old mark of the weight of 1865.
It is a solid purse with a length of 9.5 cm.
Has a weight of 43,3 grams.
The whole is in exceptionally beautiful condition (only minimal hole, see photos)
The rare scissor closure works perfectly and the scissors work smoothly.
The beautiful silver cap closes the purse perfectly and also keeps it closed well.
Because of its beautiful shape, it is a striking and particularly decorative object but also just to use.
