Guillaume Bijl is internationally known for his "transformations", where existing spaces lose their function and are transformed by the artist into a completely different shape and function. He founded a hall of the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam as a tapestry shop, the cultural centre of Berchem as a fryer and transformed the Museum of Contemporary Art of Hasselt into a gymnastic hall. His works are part of collections of various museums. He also participated in the biennials of Kassel and Venice.

Since the late 1990s he has been creating a series of "Objets Trouvés", everyday ornaments that immediately catch the eye in an art collection with their "camp" content.

This "Composition Trouvée" was released in 2001 in an edition of 40, and comes with a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist. This is number 7/40.
