The painter is very careful in giving a naturalistic rendering of the landscape, he has a decisive technique that makes him able to faithfully recreate what is in front of him, in the painting. The atmosphere, the quality of the air and the humidity coming from the water are perfectly portrayed. The objects depicted blend delicately with the surrounding space, thanks to a very refined nuanced technique. Light invades the whole scene and the artist is able to spread the light so that space and depth are created from it. The work is also very balanced from the compositional point of view.


Notes about the artist:
Painter Mario Galanti was born in Naples in 1923. Painter of seascapes in the tradition of the school of Posillipo. His style is based on a reinterpretation of the classic 19th-century Neapolitan landscape filtered through a more dreamlike and dreamy vision. The unrivalled sunsets on the Gulf of Naples are the strong point of Mario Galanti’s paintings, with slight changes of perspective. The painter studied this theme with a continuous refinement and reached a significant pictorial effect. He draws inspiration for his works from the moonlight on the sea, from twilight, from sunrises and sunsets, as well as from the scenes of fishermen returning after a day of work.
