In quarto, VII, (1), 132 pp., complete with 25 engravings by Delettre after Gérard.
A flyleaf that is half torn off, the illustrations have small stains on the edges, outside the impressions, name in ink on the flyleaf.

Work by the founder of the descriptive geometry, Gaspard Monge. 
Bound in re-used manuscript paper, including 25 intact illustrations that have been bound in the back as a supplement, folded in three. Text pages 44-47 are absent.

Signs of use on the front and back cover, and spine. The flyleaves are torn, the pages frayed. 
Pages have been damaged by water and age, some foxing here and there. 

*A palimpsest is a re-used piece of parchment for handwriting, in this case as binding material.
