Original full calf leather binding. Five raised bands to spine. Red title band with gilt tooled title. Shelf wear and rubbing to cover and spine. Rubbing particularly to hinge. Thing crack down the centre of the spine, which appears to have been expertly restored. Bumping to corners and spine edges. Cracking to fep gutter. Text block nice and tight. Pages remarkable preserved and very clean throughout, particularly for the age. Small loss to the two rear pages, not affecting the text. Overall very good condition. viii + vi + 424 pp.

Thomas Short (1690?-1772) was a Scottish physician who wrote many original works showing careful operation. Discourses On Tea is a remarkable scarce work.
