Huon appeared over a period of four years in various newspapers including Het Laatste Nieuws, De Standaard, het Eindhovens Dagblad, het Limburgs Dagblad and Nieuwsblad van het Noorden, but also in comic magazine Robbedoes. Eight uncoloured albums of the comic were published in 1974 and 1975 by De Vrijbuiter and in 1980 and 1981 in two black and white albums by Oberon. In 1972, “Huon de Neveling” came to an end when Stapel was asked by Toonder Studios to create a comic version of “Floris van Rozemondt” for newspaper De Telegraaf. Stapel made a total of 25 stories of “Huon de Neveling”.
