Chinese carved ivory chest, late 19th century. The sides and lid finely carved and incised (filigreeing) with panels of roses, with incised scrolled edges and mouldings, raised on four legs modelled like elephants. Some damage here and there but this is not bothersome.
Works perfectly, with the original key. Circa 1880

This object is made of marine ivory (sperm whale) and comes with a certificate. The certificate has been issued by Mr. A Keddeman. Appraiser has physically seen the object and has applied the material and dates. (Certificate: 3098). With this certification, we can sell this object worldwide.
