2 very old beautifully crafted boxes with lids, but which have suffered from the effects of time. Closing perfectly and having always been in the family. It seems to me that the one with the Asian décor is made of papier-mâché or lacquer and that the other is made of tortoiseshell covered with another unidentified material. 

Chinese style box: Height = 7 cm, container diameter = 7.5 cm  Weight: 77 g 
"European" box: H = 2.3 cm, diameter = 9.3 cm  Weight: 75 g
