Very special set from the estate of Jan Derk Nieuwenhuis,
Jan Derk Domela Nieuwenhuis Nyegaard (Amsterdam, 25 jJuly1870 – yonder, 4 January 1955) was a Dutch priest, publicist, Flamingant and Dutchman. He was a cousin of Ferdinand Domela Nieuwenhuis.
‘Geschiedenis van het socialisme’, volumes 1, 2 and 3. Volume 1 is signed with a small dedication by Ferdinand Domela Nieuwenhuis: ‘Terar dum Prosum betekent, Laat ik verslijten, als ik maar van nut ben’. The motto of the Order of the Benedictines.
The books have writing on the flyleaves, likely by Jan Derk. Added are two letters without signature and a picture postcard sent by Jan Derk.

Ferdinand Domela Nieuwenhuis (born 31 December 1846 – Hilversum, 18 November 1919) was a Dutch socialist politician, and later social anarchist, and anti-militarist. Domela Nieuwenhuis ranks as one of the founders of the Socialist movement in the Netherlands. He was the founder of the magazine Recht voor Allen in 1879. Later he founded the magazine De Vrije Socialist in 1898.
