A set of ESS AMT-1a speakers
Vintage seventies classics in beautiful condition.
It is a 2-way speaker with 30 cm woofer, supported by an equally large passive diaphragm on the back and an Air Motion Transformer medium/high unit.

This (membraneless, so weightless) unit developed by the German/American Doktor Heil makes the speakers unsurpassedly fast and achievable.
The introduction of the ESS speakers in the seventies was nothing short of sensational, top model AMT-1 was "talk-of-the-town" in the Hi-Fi world.

The set comes with both protective caps, which are packed separately.
Placed on the speakers, they would be very vulnerable during transport, I prefer to avoid that risk, but it does mean that the buyer can expect 4 large packages and that the shipping costs will be high.

Connection terminal (single-wire) suitable for banana plugs, spades, cable lugs and blank wire

Volume controls for middle and high, that is necessary too, the AMTs are so fast and they can be so loud that with some music it is really necessary to be able to rein it in.
These controllers are silent in themselves and do not cause noise.

The last photos are scans of a test in the German Stereoplay.
The AMT-1 was rated as "Spitzenklasse IV" and in a field with B&W DM-3000, Canton CT-2000, IMF Monitor, Kirksaeter Monitor 150 und Magnat TP-26B only had the Canton in front of them.
