Boxing shorts and glove signed by Micky Ward “The Fighter”, with COA by JSA.
Before turning professional in 1985, Micky Ward was a three-time champion of the “New England Golden Gloves”. During that same period, his half-brother, former boxer Dicky Eklund, who was struggling with drug addiction problems, was released from prison where he was held on drug possession charges. Once he was released from prison, he convinced Micky Ward to take him back to his staff and attempt to climb to the top of the world rankings. So in 2000 he had the opportunity to win the world title, this time in London, fighting against the WBU champion Shea Neary.

In 2001, the match won against Emanuel Augustus was voted “Fight of the Year” by Ring Magazine.

On 18 May 2002, Micky Ward faced for the first time Arturo Gatti (an Italian boxer moved to Canada) the opponent for whom his story became famous, the three matches of the year for Ring Magazine. 

The fight was hard and wild, but a knockdown by Ward against Gatti in the ninth round made all the difference in delivering the points victory to the American boxer. Also this match was voted “Fight of the Year” by Ring Magazine. At the end of the match, both fighters needed trauma care.
