Antique Russian icon as a month icon "June" from the 19th century. Hand-painted with egg tempera on a wooden panel with a chalk base and a gold primer. Typical icon-making method in the 18th and 19th centuries in Tsarist Russia. Very detailed and finely executed painting. Perfectly coordinated color contrasts and successful shades. The icon and all the saints are labeled. The inscriptions are easy to read.
The painting contains very fine and authentic craquelure (see photos). Partial restorations and corrections are present. The icon is in good condition with typical age-related signs of wear (see photos).
Deep midfield (levkas). There are two transverse sponkas on the back. Heavy and stable wooden board.
This is an icon from a North Russian Old Believer workshop. The icon was created in the first half of the 19th century.
