Sehr fein ausgeführte, kleine, antike russische Ikone mit der Darstellung des „Hl. Propheten Elijas“. Handgemalt mit Eitemperafarben auf einer Holztafel mit Kreidegrund. Typische Methode der Ikonenherstellung im 18. und 19. Jahrhundert in Zarenrussland.

Besonders auffällig ist detaillierte Darstellung des Heiligen. Perfekt aufeinander abgestimmte Farbkontraste und gelungene Schattierungen.

Miniaturmalerei von hohen Qualitäten. Ausdrucksstarkes Gesicht des Heiligen. Der Heilige ist beschriftet. Die Beschriftung ist gut lesbar. Die Malerei enthält sehr authentische Krakeleen. Partielle Restaurierungen sind vorhanden. Die Ikone befindet sich in einem guten Zustand mit typischen altersbedingten Gebrauchspuren (siehe Fotos).

Die Ikone entstand um ca. 1870.

Das Motiv kommt relativ selten vor.

Besonders interessant für Sammler und Kenner der Materie.
