mplificateur le plus haut de gamme de la production Marantz de 1977, le Model 1250 délivre une puissance importante pour l'époque : 125 watts par canal, avec un taux de distorsion harmonique inférieur à 0,1%.

En termes de fonctionnalités, le fabricant a mis la barre très haut : la section égalisation se compose ainsi de six potentiomètres (trois pour chaque canal) et de plusieurs filtres. On trouve sur cet ampli deux entrées tape (aux formats RCA et DIN), deux entrées phono, une entrée tuner et une entrée auxiliaire.

L'appareil offre en plus la possibilité d'utiliser séparément les sections de préamplification et de puissance (Main in / Pre out). Grâce à sa sortie "Scope", le Model 1250 pourra utiliser l'oscilloscope présent sur certains tuners Marantz (tels que le Model 150).
