The charisma of classic cars, brought to you by {name}

Franco Vigorito

A rare Trabant P 601 Kübel, it is an ex-military original and still has its first paint job.

This rare version of the Trabant was built using the classic modified 601 floorpan with an iron rear. It was the equivalent of the "VW 181" and the Jeep USA. Today, they are highly sought after as summer vehicles and "beach cars".

The bodywork is very solid and preserved, and is complete with the chassis frame.

The interior had been restored by the previous owner and appears well with no tears and solid upholstery, sheathing has been applied to the floor and the typical rubber carpet.

Mechanically the car has been started with an external power supply, there is a video of the engine running, however a general inspection and restoration of some parts may be required.

The underbody has some rust from normal use typical of open cars, but it is very light, with a flat floor.

A valid bill of sale with chassis number will be provided to facilitate registration.

Some videos of the car and engine are available. A high-resolution photo gallery is also available and is part of this description, on the seller’s website. Please ask Catawiki. Bidders are also welcome to view and test the vehicle, which is located in Quarrata 51039 (PT), Italy. Please send a message to Catawiki to arrange an appointment on site; you can also book a video call from your smartphone.

We can arrange transfer of ownership or exports documents remotely. Affordable shipping to Italy, Europe and rest of the world. You can also conveniently pick up the car on site, as it can stay 15 days at our storage facility free of charge.

We recommend viewing the vehicle before the end of the auction, even via a video call on your smartphone (WhatsApp, FaceTime). Please send a message to Catawiki for an appointment. The seller reserves the right to claim compensation if the buyer does not pay for the purchase which comes automatically into existence with the winning bid and obliges the buyer to make the payment, as per the sales contract available on the seller’s website.
