Door mensen bedacht, vormgegeven en gebouwd, maar nu door iedereen verlaten. Dit boek is een persoonlijke selectie uit de vele, door de jaren heen, door mij gefotografeerde locaties. Het wordt geen platte verzameling van tientallen foto’s die zonder veel samenhang in een boek worden gestopt. Ik heb gekozen voor een indeling in 13 hoofdstukken waarbij elk hoofdstuk het verhaal van 1 locatie vertelt. Uiteraard spelen mijn daar gemaakte foto’s de hoofdrol, maar bij elk staat ook een korte geschiedenis en een persoonlijk relaas over die betreffende locatie. Soms ook over de risico’s die je moet nemen om juist die ene foto of serie te maken die naar mijn idee het verhaal van deze plekken vertelt"
