Nota bene: il Registratore a filo funziona, provando e non essendo esperto ho fatto saltare il filo, non voglio toccarlo preferisco far mettere il filo apposto da voi esperti. 

Il registratore a filo, dopo 70 anni dalla sua costruzione, incredibilmente è ancora in grado di funzionare. Il funzionamento è abbastanza regolare, ed è davvero incredibile come un oggetto così vecchio sia ancora oggi in grado di fare il suo lavoro: evidentemente era stato costruito per durare a lungo, senza una "scadenza predeterminata" come la maggior parte dei prodotti odierni.

Abbiamo a che fare con quello che probabilmente è uno dei primi se non addirittura il primo registratore prodotto in Italia nel dopoguerra: il G242 della Geloso.

Doverosa premessa:

Come descritto nella storia della registrazione magnetica, i primi registratori commerciali messi in commercio negli anni 30 e 40 del XX secolo non utilizzavano il nastro magnetico così come lo conosciamo oggi, ma registravano magnetizzando un filo di acciaio che scorreva di fronte a testine di forma particolare. Il nastro magnetico fu inventato in Germania da AEG-BASFe fu praticamente secretato dal governo nazista fino alla fine della guerra, dopo di che iniziò la sua diffusione nel mondo.
